Mental health is a big deal, which is why we're devoting a section of this website to promoting awareness to it.

so what is mental health?

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.  -MentalHealth.gov

When individuals have poor mental health, it affects how they view the world. It also affects the way they interact with others. Please use the following resources to ensure that you have great mental health. We're also including links to resources to help you determine when friends and family are affected by mental health issues.

Lastly, we're building a directory of vetted mental health professionals around the United States, so stay tuned.

It all started when...

That one thing happened to you. It's like you can remember the day clearly, when it seemed like your ability to control your thoughts just vanished. Your desire to be on this earth fizzled out into thin air. You thought maybe it would be better the next day, and the next-- but it wasn't. You realized that you were, or are still, depressed.

Depression is all to real. I know it well, I've lived and breathed it. In all honestly, sometimes in my life it tries to rear it's ugly head. The good news is that it doesn't have to control your life. There is help, there are people who genuinely care, and there is a future for you.

I'm not a counselor, or a therapist. I'm just a man that's been in your shoes. I wanted to dedicate this page to providing links to some of the best resources available. If you are even remotely depressed, or feel like you want to commit suicide, get immediate help. There are trained experts who are ready to assist you in getting your life back on track and experiencing the happiness you deserve.

 

The National Suicide Prevention Hotline is a great place to start if your depression has you to the point where you want to take your own life. If you feel this way at this moment, call them NOW.

 

Do you know someone who may be suicidal? The warning signs are typically obvious and those who are contemplating taking their life usually confide in a close friend or relative.
